Razi Razavi was born in 1987 in Tabriz, Iran. He completed his undergraduate education at Nabi Akram University in Graphic Design and his master’s degree at Tehran Azad University in Painting.
Based on the concept of “Mutation” Razavi references to consciousness and subconscious throughout his drawings. The visual contradictions created by the stylistic reality and the uncanny images he produces with simple lines establishes a dialogue with the audience through the symbols used by the artist. Referring to the variability of our behavior and actions in the world, the artist also refers to the future, and changeability with figures placed next to the symbols. In addition to his solo exhibitions, he took part in many group shows such as the International Omen Art Fair. Razavi teaches visual arts at various institutions and is among the jury members of the Iran Drawing Festival.
